The Dept of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, IIT Madras and the Ceratattva Innotech Pvt Ltd., are jointly organized a 2-day workshop on "Atomistic Modeling of Earth Abundant Electrocatalysts". Speaker: Dr. Heechae Choi is currently a Group Leader at Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, University of Cologne, Germany since September 2018, as he was selected as a laureate of a prestigious grant, MOPGA-GRI by French and German governments. From 2019, Dr. Choi is participating in SPARC project with contributions in atomic-scale modeling and First-principles calculations to study catalytic reaction mechanisms of crystal-amorphous junctioned catalyst materials. He received his Ph.D. degree from Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Hanyang University (Korea) in 2012, and he worked in Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) as postdoc from 2012 to 2016. To transfer atomic-scale simulation techniques to industry and experimental researchers, Dr. Choi co-founded Virtual Lab Inc. in 2016. Currently, more than 15,000 researchers in academia and industry are using this web-based simulation software.
